Colorado Impact Fund (CIF) is a Denver-based impact venture capital firm founded in 2014 by Jim Kelley (Vestar Capital Partners co-founder) and Ryan Heckman (Excellere Partners co-founder), backed by ~20 Colorado investor families as Colorado's first privately financed double-bottom-line fund. The firm manages approximately $80M across CIF I and the Colorado Impact Bridge Fund, investing $500K–$3M initial checks (with reserves up to $6M) into Colorado companies with high-growth, scalable models that deliver measurable community impact. Active investments include interviewIA, Honest Jobs, Project Canary, Barn Owl Tech, and Tortuga AgTech, with Chocolove acquired by Ritter Sport in November 2025.
